Confession time: I like sweets (who doesn't?). While English speakers would say I've got a sweet tooth, Turkish idioms would tie my love for sugary foods with my tongue. Phrases like: ”A sweet tongue takes the snake out of its hole״ or ״Let's eat sweet and talk sweet". These are all part of a cultural nature striving for a sweet and enjoyable life.

The memories of my childhood in Istanbul and tasting the flavors and colors of Turkey's confections allow me to gladly define myself as a Turkish Sweet Tooth. It has been a pure joy to illustrate and tell the story of the various sweets that my home country has to offer.
